After the past 14 weeks in fashion detail , i have learn many knowledge , terms and stuffs that i was clueless since the beginning , but now i managed to learn more about fashion. I am still an amateur in fashion details and feel that there is still many stuffs for me to pick up and learn. Through the past 14 weeks i've got to know my strength and weakness. I picked up the skills of visualizing a garment to technical flats pretty quickly , however i had a tough time changing the ratio of real life garments to technical flats. I have to work on my drawing skills when transformed into technical flats. Before year 2 starts , i will spend my holiday thinking about what i want to do and how to improve myself, to start off i will probably read more fashion magazines , understand the current trend before knowing small little details. Watch and try to attend fashion shows if possible , and also visit places where it will inspire me . Window shopping is also something that i will enjoy and look into it as well.

online lesson
This dress that I drew is from Gucci, it has a ruffled
sleeves with three buttons down at the side. Round neck collar with one button
each on the collar and button straps with three buttons. This dress is also an
A-line dress both front and back.
If I have to adapt this dress to suit for a mid market , I
will use a fabric such as cotton or polyster. I will take away the details such
as the buttons and use lesser ruffles. In order to lessen the expenses for
making this garment , I will change this dress into a blouse , such that lesser
fabric will be used during this process. This new version of garment will
probably be placed in Zara or H&M, in Gucci you will definitely encounter a
one to one customer service , whereas in Zara or H&M there is no personal
customer service .
Design Development
In this week lesson , we learned how to observe from a real life garment and use the ratio to resize it into a technical flat drawing . I brought a white straight line dress with bell sleeves and draw half of each front and back side onto the journal .
